Well we've added quite a few more ticks on the sights to see list. Been to Bloomingdales and Macy's, though wallets left relatively unscathed. Fashion du jour is gumboots, of all different colors and patterns, they must be pretty hot, sweaty and uncomfortable to walk round in but I guess it's about the look. Enjoyed Union St Market, a farmers market with the odd colorful character. Grand Central Terminal (never call it station) is huge and simply breathtaking, no photo could really do it justice. Empire State Building, the Flat Iron building, New York public library (where bride and groom having photos). Fav part of the city was Greenwich Village. Had lovely lunch at Hummus place. Would you believe we bumped into someone we knew while strolling along a leafy Greenwich street! Graeme Ashton recently retired from Air NZ properties , and his wife, very small world and had no idea he was in NY. Did Central Park, strawberry fields, and took the obligatory carriage ride through the park yesterday. The day started off fine but the wind came up and the clouds multiplied so quite cool in the afternoon. Highline park was quirky, had lunch in a place more French than you'd find in France. Headed off with our New York Yankees caps to the ball game! Simon disappointed he didn't catch any balls like Brittany did! Very enjoyable watching the game, the rules not hard cos even I understood them. Had a hot dog and ice cream and our Yankee team won 5-3. 27 times world series champs! Took 45 mins on subway to get back, we are locals now, no need for a map and we are helping others out (it's not like we would see them again if we got it really wrong). Bed the wrong side of midnight again.
